Single Storey Rear Extension and Two Bedroom Flat Refurbishment – Chelsea (SW10)
Located off Old Brompton Road, this project involved the complete renovation of a ground floor (basement) flat, which was in a particularly bad state at the start, with no proper electrical and plumbing services installed. Work included the building of a single storey kitchen extension and the conversion of the flat into a two bedroom and two bathroom property, involving substantial structural changes. The most difficult and extensive job was related to the garden, a large part of which was dug up and new walls and stairs built, including lighting, cladding and stone paving. All of the inside of the flat was renovated with complete rewiring, new heating system, including under floor heating, two new bathrooms and a kitchen and tiled floors throughout the living areas. The project was extremely difficult to conduct due to its location on a main road in Central London where rubbish disposal and deliveries were particularly hard to organize.
